Opera then spreads to the other parts od Italy, first in Rome, where scenography and cosmography (in which initially anybody did not pay attention to), became more significant and convincing, then in Napoli, where numera is created as a special part of the whole opera. Aria also appeared and started developing as a new vocal form. Francesco Cavalli and Claudio Monteverdi stands out as an important opera composers in the 17th century (Monteverdi's "Orpheus" is the earliest opera ever performed). Around 1637, in Venice, they began to perform publicly, the tickets were introduced and became available not only for an upper class but also for lower class citizens. ![]() Baroque opera – Opera's expanding to court audiences was very fast and effective. The most frequently used themes are stories from classic Greek mythology – ancient epics and myths about Greeks and Romans – drawing a parallel between heroes and gods. ![]() This form of entertainment includes music, dance, and magnificent performances imbued with spectacular technical effects and extravagant costumes. ![]() The development of opera was tortuous from its biggest highlights to losing the sense of music in pieces and music in the service of drama and script, and then re-elevating and transforming into new art forms. It's origins are in Italy and it appeared on the transition from Renaissance to the Baroque era. Opera is a form of a musical piece with the elements of drama and acting.
